Art aficionados may shudder at these works by Japanese artist Yasumasa Morimura, who specializes in digitally transplanting his own face onto classical paintings.
A cheap gag? Perhaps - though Duchamp was once celebrated for drawing a goatee and moustache on the Mona Lisa. Morimura justifies bridging the gap between high and low brow admirably: "Art is basically entertainment. Michaelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci were entertainers. In that way, I am an entertainer and want to make art that is fun."
