Normally, one takes a dim view when an advertising idea is nicked wholesale
from a film or TV show.
Terry Gilliam was rightly incensed when Barclays re-shot a scene from Brazil to flog their business accounts. Mehdi Noravian sued Guinness when
they copied his film Joy in their Dancing Man commercial.
But here's a borrowed idea which is still wonderful.
The Heat Electric ads were lifted lock, stock and tortoise-shell from the TV
series Creature Comforts. However, Paul Cardwell, of Doner Cardwell
Hawkins, had the nous to get Aardman themselves to make them.
