British screenwriters, for too long the also-rans of Hollywood, are on a roll. And Monday night's Golden Globes have lifted their spirits even higher.
Top dog is Peter Morgan. Already the recipient of seven awards for The Queen, in which Helen Mirren plays Her Majesty and Michael Sheen is Tony Blair, Morgan won best movie screenplay at the Golden Globes. Don't be surprised if his burgeoning trophy cabinet has to make room for an Oscar next month.
Morgan's acclaimed take on The Last King Of Scotland, Giles Foden's novel chronicling the relationship between Idi Amin and his physician, is currently in cinemas, while his play Frost/Nixon - centred on
