Where to drink: The Old Queen's Head. Probably Islington’s best boho boozer. Laid out across two floors, it offers down-to-earth grub, stylish surroundings, fine wines and an eclectic music policy. Large parties can take control of the top room, while smaller gatherings

can spread out across the spacious lower level.
Where to play: Bloomsbury Bowling. Ten- pin bowling got a makeover this year, as the glitterati lined up to try their luck in chi-chi bowling alleys such as this central London hotspot. Put an original spin on your evening and and hire out one of their lane-side karaoke rooms for some post-bowling fun. Here you can sink into a comfy sofa, quaff a few quality cocktails, raid the in-room mini bar and get well and truly into the groove.
