Groupie shots
Linda McCartney was many things during her lifetime - a card-carrying vegetarian, animal rights activist, entrepreneur, Wings band-member, first wife of Paul and mother of four - but it's as a professional photographer that she is currently being celebrated, as the first major UK exhibition of her prints opens in London. Given how well-placed she was to photograph the most wanted of her generation - Jim Morrison, Mick Jagger and, of course, the Beatles - her subject matter is no surprise. But her pictures don't endure just because she happened to associate with icons. As these classy, pensive and intimate shots testify, the woman had talent in her own right.
