Pod casting

Japanese artist Mariko Mori's latest exhibition documents her work over the last 11 years. Much of it seems to have been spent lying prostrate in a transparent pod in various cities around the world (see our exclusive video, right). Intriguing stuff. She's also created magnificently trippy photo-montages which mix Buddhist and Shinto imagery with slick cyber-fantasy: a comment, she says, on the 'flatness' of modern pop culture. Elaine Hake

Beginning of the End features Mori's work from the last 12 years, including an 18ft glass pod sculpture. At the Albion Gallery, Battersea, until December 22. See more images on the next page.
