Alienware Area-51 m15x laptop

4 out of 5

You usually need to compromise on power when it comes to laptops, but this 15.4in silvery beast laughs in the face of modesty. It's one of the speediest notebooks you'll find, plus there's gaming potential to rival high-end desktop PCs - it'll play the very latest games at all but their very highest settings. You can change the colour of the chassis' neon lights at will (including that cheeky Alien-face on the lid) too, which just adds to the geeky appeal. On the downside, the hi-res screen is a little grainy, and the keyboard isn't great either. It's also eye-wateringly pricy at the top spec, although you can specify it to fit your budget on Alienware's website. If you want fast and portable gaming, the creepy, almond-shaped eyes have it.
