Vintage Stock

We've gone back in time to 1950s America in these endearing photographs by Dennis Stock. After joining Magnum in 1951 and then a chance meeting with a certain up-and-coming young actor named James Dean in 1955, Stock was a photographer in the thick of the action at a time of extreme cool. He took pictures not only of Dean but of other Hollywood gold such as a dreamy Audrey Hepburn during the filming of Sabrina, as well as the major players of the American jazz scene including Miles Davis and Louis Armstrong - pictures which have since adorned the walls of many a teenager's bedroom and entered our collective consciousness as the epitome of a cultural zeitgeist.
