Too cool for school

In an effort to finally rid himself of his smoking addiction, 40-year-old Andy Wicks visits a hypnotherapist - only to find that the session becomes a full-blown regression that takes him back to his teens and the horrors of high school. Alex Robinson’s latest, Too Cool to be Forgotten, is more approachable than his lengthy, award-winning epic Box Office Poison, and utilises its hint of the 1980 film Somewhere in Time to generate an emotionally gripping and resonant tale about dealing with your demons. Robinson's artwork also continues to impress: the cartoonish style contrasting sharply with his innovative displays of visual narrative and panel structure. It's the deeply touching finale, however, that truly stays with you.
