What happened

In Wednesday's edition of the Wall Street Journal, Sumner Redstone, chief of Viacom and Paramount Pictures, abruptly announced that he was not renewing actor Tom Cruise's movie contract. Sumner noted that Cruise's recent conduct (bouncing on a couch on The Oprah Winfrey Show, espousing Scientology and denouncing all psychiatry) had "not been acceptable".
