
A little imagination
Kerstin zu Pan's brand of photography embraces the whimsical, surreal and inexplicable that we usually associate with a suitably bonkers dream. In the spirit of the subconscious imagination, one of her favourite tricks is to introduce the incongruous for peculiar effect, compiling bizarre scenes from components which in themselves would be perfectly ordinary. Consequently, for no apparent reason, we get women who can't sit straight, a couple sporting masks and insane grins, and a scantily-clad model perched on top of an aeroplane, wielding a feather duster…
