The carnivalesque worlds in Loubie-Lou's images are strewn with colourful individuals: vaudeville stars, masked revellers, creepy hospital inmates - and London's tranny-about-town, Jodie Harsh. This celebration of life's quirky underbelly is all part of the beautifully synchronised vision of two women - Sarah Brittain Edwards and Louise Adolphsen. Bound by a love of all things romantic, debauched and macabre, they collaborate as Loubie-Lou to create "sinister yet playful new worlds, where surrealism and reality collide". Creating these rich and complex pictures involves some seriously hard graft on their part, but a bit of audience participation is called for as well. Their images never have titles, which means it's totally up to you to supply the stories behind them.
