Midland banker

As an ad for regional tourism, it doesn't get much better than John Goto's latest series. Charged with photographing 'iconic locations' in the East Midlands by the Arts Council, The First Post's first ever Big Picture artist has come up with a clutch of characteristically exhilarating images. In a Victorian toy theatre, stately heritage sites provide the backdrops for deliberately anachronistic 'performances' by local dance groups - a celebration of the area's cultural diversity as well as its rich history. Three years on from his first appearance here with a circus rocket sizzling across our homepage, Goto now takes us on 'A Peregrination through the East Midlands'.
