The Big Picture

Aspiring to a Lynchian air of mystery, Spaniard Biel Capllonch is a deliberately obscure photographer. He says that "Justifying my pictures through continuous conceptualisation is not my thing", making any critique of his work a feat of educated guess work. These images don't even have individual titles, so using the series name ('Spain is Different'), the abstract poses, matador get-up and sado-masochistic overtones as clues, we can only surmise that it's a meditation on the more subversive aspects of his native culture.
