Hotel of the Week: Nash Hall

Renovated guesthouse in Powys
Nash Hall is the latest creation of Roger and Judy Collings, who have made a living "resuscitating old houses on the Wales-Herefordshire border".
Their love for the job shows in this "soaring oak-beamed wonder of a living space", says Lisa Johnson in the Observer. A converted 17th century threshing barn, set amidst beautiful walking country not far
from the "lovely" towns of Hay-on-Wye and Ludlow, it has "beautifully poetic decor", with a "vast wood-burning fire", an "old, working jukebox" and "dainty Royal Doulton tea cups". Two en suite bedrooms are accessed via galleried landings.
Available at £360 for a three-night weekend. Contact: 01544-267354; www.nash-hall.co.uk.
