Manchester United look to seal league against Boro

A win against Gareth Southgate's struggling team will effectively hand Sir Alex Ferguson the title, whatever result Liverpool achieve
Could this be the weekend when Manchester United finally seal their 18th league title? Mathematically, every side down to Arsenal in fourth is still in contention, but a win against Middlesbrough at the Riverside in the early kick-off tomorrow morning will put Alex Ferguson's team on 80 points with four games left to play, six clear of second place Liverpool.
Expect to see much of the team that outclassed Arsenal in midweek rested or on the bench - and expect to see a brave, if pointless, performance from Gareth Southgate's doomed Boro, who could end the game six points from safety at the bottom of the table.
Liverpool's home game against Newcastle provides another top vs bottom clash, as Rafa Benitez's men, with nothing else to play for but a receding chance of winning the league should Man Utd slip up, will take on a side who are talking like they've been relegated already.
Misfiring Toon striker Michael Owen essentially conceded this game when he said that the Magpies were looking at winning their last three games to stay up ie not this one. Without Europe to distract him, Benitez will field a full-strength team for the rest of the season, with Steven Gerrard likely to return for the Merseysiders.
Chelsea boss Guss Hiddink's eye will be firmly on next week's return leg of the Champions League semi-final with Barcelona, so what better time could there be for Fulham to record an away win in the west London derby for the first time in almost half a century?
If he scores, Frank Lampard will keep his 100 per cent goals to games ratio against the Cottagers (14 goals in 14 games to date), but if Roy Hodgson's team achieves an unlikely win then their challenge for the seventh spot, and probably Europa League football next season, will remain nailed on.
It's tempting to think that Arsenal's minds will also be on their Champions League game against Manchester United, rather than on their away game at Portsmouth. But with a cup-tied Andrei Arshavin only available for league games, it's certain to be an open game as the south coasters look to secure their Premier League status.
Elsewhere, wins for Sunderland and Hull and defeat for West Brom at Spurs will likely see the Baggies relegated from the top flight again.
