The illegal settlements
Israeli tanks advance against Egyptian troops near the town of Rafah in the Gaza Strip, in June 1967, during the Six-Day War. During this war, Israel expanded its territories to take land previously owned by Jordan, Egypt and Syria. It was on some of this captured land that Israeli settlers started to build homes.
