St Lucia ‘should ban’ Amy Winehouse

Ex-government advisor wants to kick the troubled singer off the Caribbean island for leading the local youth astray
Amy Winehouse's Caribbean getaway might be about to come to an end following the appeals of a former St Lucian government adviser to ban her from the island. Jeff Fedee, an ex-public relations officer, branded the troubled singer a "tattooed reptile" and accused her of leading the local youth astray in a damning letter to the island’s newspaper, headlined 'Cretinous people made Winehouse rich'.
Fedee said he felt compelled to write to the St Lucia Star after hearing that authorities were considering granting the 25-year-old residency status. "She'd be a menace and a dangerous influence to our society," he said. She should "be locked up, be put in compulsory rehab and force fed to put some flesh on her insect frame."
The Rehab star is said to have "fallen in love" with the island having fled there just before Christmas in an attempt to overcome a drug addiction and eating disorder. At first, it seemed the hiatus from her destructive life in London - which often included her drug addict husband Blake Fielder-Civil, bloodied ballet pumps and bizarre altercations with the press - was working. But then the singer flopped at the island's Jazz Festival. She stumbled over her words, fell over and was booed off of the stage.
The decision to include her in the festival was another sore point for Fedee, who commented that he had gone along "to see how our tax dollars were being wasted, because evidently to our tourism officials, a notorious reputation for obnoxious behaviour and not necessarily musical ability was the main criteria for including Amy Winehouse in the jazz line-up".
His comments came as Winehouse's parents admitted earlier this week that their daughter still needed help.
