Hotel of the week: W Hong Kong, Kowloon

The latest addition to the W chain of designer accommodation is "one of the most eye-catching hotels in Hong Kong", says Helen Georghiou in the Independent. It occupies a "glittering" new waterfront skyscraper in the heart of the commercial and cultural district of West Kowloon, with "iconic" views of Hong Kong Island from the floor-to-ceiling windows of its main restaurant.

For more informal dining, there's Kitchen, a breakfast place open until midnight, and "glamorous" Fire, serving steak and seafood. Rooms are very stylish, with "smatterings" of bright colours recalling classical Chinese art.
