BRIGITTE MOHNHAUPT Described at the time as "the most evil and dangerous woman in West Germany" she was sentenced to five concurrent life sentences in 1982 for her part in many killings, including that of Hans Martin Schleyer in the doomed attempt to secure Baader's release. She was granted parole on February 12, 2007, effective on March 27.

He has been held in a high-security wing of Stammheim jail in Stuttgart, built especially for the gang. He is hoping to be released early with a controversial pardon from German president Horst Kohler.
ASTRID PROLL Arrested in 1971 suspected of various robberies she was sent to a sanatorium on the grounds of declining mental health. She escaped to England in 1974 and has published a photography book of the Baader-Meinhof gang, Pictures on the Run, and has worked as a picture researcher for the Independent newspaper in London.
