Carlo Ancelotti marked his first official day as Chelsea manager by reiterating his belief that John Terry will not be moving to Manchester City, and will instead remain as captain at Stamford Bridge forever, the Times reveals. The Stamford Bridge side has already rejected a bid of £30m for their talismanic captain, and the moneybags Mancunians have threatened to return with a £40m offer that will stretch Terry's resolve yet further...

The new Sunderland manager Steve Bruce is looking to make an impact signing, reports the Guardian, and has lined up Portsmouth's unhappy striker Peter Crouch as his main target. Crouch would cost up to £14m, and would become Sunderland's record signing, but Bruce can expect a fight as Fulham gaffer Roy Hodgson has also expressed his desire to pick up the 6ft 7in hitman from struggling Pompey...

They want him and we would be delighted to see Gabriel develop in such a club. We will make it official when the moment comes"...

Manchester City's striker Jo will continue his loan stay at Everton into the new season, reports the Daily Mail, after convincing the Goodison Park hierarchy that his fitness will hold up. With Carlos Tevez set to join a front three with Roque Santa Cruz and Robinho at Eastlands, there will be little chance of making an impression at City, so Jo, who impressed for Everton in the closing stages of last season, will remain on Merseyside with a hope to achieving a full transfer...
