New trailer sheds little light on DiCaprio film Inception
A year away from the release of his new sci-fi film Inception, Christopher Nolan has given little away in a new teaser trailer
The famously tight-lipped British film director Christopher Nolan has released a trailer for his latest film Inception, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Marion Cotillard and Ellen Page, even though its release date is almost a year away.
However the one-minute 'teaser trailer' - which includes several shots of a blinking and confused-looking DiCaprio (above) - gives little away about the sci-fi action movie, which the Dark Knight and Memento director is still filming.
As with most Nolan films, very little is known about Inception's plot or characters. The film's producers Warner Bros have simply described it as "a contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind". But the trailer does at least hint at a warped Matrix-style reality, with the cryptic slogan, 'Your mind is the scene of the crime' and mysterious scenes of glasses of water defying gravity and men fighting mid-air in hotel corridors.
Recent sightings of DiCaprio, Cotillard and Page on location in Paris have not given much away about the film either. In mid-August Juno star Page and DiCaprio filmed a scene in which a Parisian restaurant is blown up, while Cotillard and DiCaprio shot a seductive kissing scene on the Bir-Hakeim bridge over the Seine.
Nolan is also keeping quiet about his forthcoming Batman movie, which will be his third after 2005's Batman Begins and 2008's The Dark Knight, the fourth highest-grossing film of
all time. It was also reported this week that Transformers actress Megan Fox was being lined up to play Catwoman in the new film, although her publicist denied the claim.
