Israel-Palestine: the human cost

Yoav Galai is an Israeli photojournalist who was embedded with the Israeli Defence Force during the 2006 conflict in Lebanon. During that brief war, his unit came under heavy fire. Galai's photos of wounded soldiers taken during the attack were widely published in order to support a range of agendas, yet nowhere was their true context revealed: that this was a friendly fire incident. The exhibition 'Beware the cost of war' is a reaction to that experience. Part of the Inside Out festival, this show gives 14 Israeli and Palestinian photographers the opportunity to exhibit their work and explain their true context. The selection shown here is just a taste of the true horror of the ongoing conflict in Gaza, the West Bank and Israel.
