Directed by the legendary Michael Mann (Heat, Collateral), Public Enemies is an epic, action-packed thriller that follows the story of the legendary, charming and ruthless gangster John Dillinger (Depp) as he attempts to outwit and outgun the square-jawed FBI agent Melvin Purvis (Bale).

After escaping the authorities snare in a series of wild chases and shootouts, J Edgar Hoover (Billy Crudup) and his fledging FBI are forced to hire a crew of lawmen from the Dallas bureau and orchestrate a series of epic betrayals - from the infamous "Lady in Red" set-up to the turning of Chicago crime boss Frank Nitti - in order for Purvis and his new crew of gunfighters to finally close in on their prey.
