A US army psychiatrist has shot dead 13 people and wounded 31 after going on a rampage at the Fort Hood military base in Texas. Major Nidal Malik Hasan, 39, was initially reported as having been killed, but, in a dramatic twist, it was later revealed that he is still alive in hospital under military guard. Outside Fort Hood, Staff Sergeant Fanuaee Fea, 32, comforts Private Savannah Green, 23, after the shooting.
