Fall of the Wall: my school trip
The geopolitical implications may have been massive, but not everyone grasped the importance of the fall of the Berlin Wall on the night of November 9, 1989. Roland
Pietsch, an 18-year-old in his final year of school, was one of those who nonchalantly accepted the end of an era. However, he was at least equipped with a camera when his headmaster closed the
school the following day and took his students to the Brandenburg Gate. These are some of the pictures Pietsch captured on the one roll of film he took with him to witness the end of Berlin's
dividing Wall.
