Transfer Talk: Meanwhile, David Villa would consider a move from Valencia; Wenger wants ‘new Henry’

LAST UPDATED 3:43 PM, NOVEMBER 25, 2009

Manchester United's transfer target Edin Dzeko of Bundesliga side Wolfsburg has turned down the opportunity to move in the January transfer window. The 23-year-old Bosnian striker, who is also interesting AC Milan and Juventus, told German magazine Sport Bild that "a transfer in the winter is not an issue at all". However the striker, who scored 26 goals last season, is expected to move on in the summer for a fee of around €20m...

David Villa has put the leading clubs across Europe on alert by saying that he could countenance life away from Valencia. The 27-year-old Spanish hitman said: "There can be a thousand scenarios. I'm not saying that I am opening the doors to anywhere, but I'm not closing them. Neither Europe nor Africa, nor to America, nor Korea. I don't shut the door to anywhere because I have a short career and I want to enjoy it." Previously Villa, a £35m target for Manchester United and Chelsea had been loth to talk up a move from the cash-strapped La Liga side but it looks as if that has all changed now...

Arsene Wenger is ready to break the bank next summer for Aston Villa's pacey hot-shot Gabriel Agbonlahor, but only if he remains consistent over the second half of the season, according to the Daily Star. Wenger has kept tabs on the 23-year-old England star since his spectacular debut season in 2006, but the Frenchman wants to see Agbonlahor keep on scoring throughout the season - last year almost all his goals came before Christmas - before he parts with £18m...

And there's more Arsenal action, claims the Sun. Wenger is also running the rule over Nice striker Loic Remy, who has evoked comparison with former great Gunner Thierry Henry in his homeland. The 20-year-old, who already has a national cap, has asked compatriots Abou Diaby and Bacary Sagna about life at Arsenal: "I often talk about Arsenal with Diaby and Sagna when I am with them in the French team. They tell me that when you are at Arsenal you want to stay there for your entire career." Remy is rated at £14m and has also been linked with AC Milan and Lyon; last season he scored 11 times in 32 goals for relegation-flirters Nice...

Aston Villa midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker, once spoken of as a future England captain, is desperate to leave Villa Park believing that his relationship there with boss Martin O'Neill is irrevocably damaged. The 25-year-old sparked a training ground bust-up with O'Neill by telling him to "fuck off", but the Ulsterman subsequently appointed him captain for the 5-1 hammering of Bolton. But the following game against Burnley he was dropped and Reo-Coker fears his time is up in the Midlands; a move back to his native London could be on the cards says the Daily Mirror, possibly to Fulham, where his agent Tony Finnigan has ties...

Manchester United's defensive stalwart Nemanja Vidic could leave the club next summer, manager Sir Alex Ferguson, as Barcelona and Real Madrid track the Serbian centre back, and AC Milan have also been waiting in the wings. The Times reports that Vidic is keen to leave Old Trafford, despite his boss trying to talk him out of a switch. The silver lining for Manchester United is that with the 27-year-old contracted until 2012 with the Premier League club, they will be able to name their price up to £30m for Vidic...
