Tina Brown has had a place at Top Table for all the years that I have been in New York, and it is sad that the time has come for her to cash-out.

Her husband Sir Harry Evans, the brilliant former editor of the Sunday Times, is all-there but getting old. Tina's television show belly-flopped, her glory days as editrix of first the Vanity Fair and then the New Yorker are gone and, with college looming for the kids, expenses keep climbing. So Tina has sold the jewels hoarded from her 'friendship' with the Princess of Wales in the form of the latest 'explosive' account of her life, out on June 12 - but with an extract coming next week in Tina's old glossy Vanity Fair.
