As I sat in the police waiting room at Weatherby Crown Court for the third day in a row, there wasn't much consolation in knowing that the trial that convicted the bomb plotters in Operation Crevice lasted a whole year. After leafing through the same copies of Women's Own magazine day after day, I had almost convinced myself that I would get away without having to give evidence. Then the court usher came and called me in.

Most people (police officers included) give evidence at Magistrates Courts, so having to travel to the Crown Court in your dress uniform is a bit like moving
