In the West Bank, Israeli writer igal sarna meets a Palestinian girl who hoped to be a suicide bomber

At the end of August, I followed in the footsteps of Rasha El Aza as she marched at the head of a noisy victory procession into the Daheishe refugee camp outside Bethlehem.

The gloomy sky above the miserable West Bank camp where she was born 19 years ago was illuminated by small fireworks; the streets were full of the sounds of explosions and posters of the round-faced girl.
