Drink, drugs and women
There's some very Nordic moodiness going on in these cool paintings by the Swedish artist Mamma Andersson. The landscape elements have a stark, ambiguous beauty, but other than that there isn't much that is precise or definite - the general message seems to be the meaninglessness of life from a female point of view. Except, that is, for the universal meaningfulness of getting drunk or stoned, which is hinted at a lot - there's some trippy stuff going on, and intimations of the less pleasant stages of intoxication, like the comedown, or the hangover. Great, but enjoy in moderation.
