M ore than a week has passed since the 'biggest launch day for a media product in history' and there's just one thing Microsoft wants you to know about Halo 3: the money.

Microsoft brags that $170 million worth of day-one sales were achieved in the USA, repeating the oft-cited 'bigger than Hollywood' brag till they’re heliotrope in the face. This isn’t strictly fair, of course. A $60 price-tag on a game pushes the total receipts up, but the number of people it touches is far smaller than a hit movie.

Be that as it may, given the rare opportunity of having the world's media pointing their cameras at gamesters, you'd have thought that Microsoft could have found something more interesting to talk about
