From red state to Gap Red |

Natalie Maines, the Dixie Chicks band member who so ticked off Dubya Bush and his Red State hordes back in the days when Iraq seemed a gung-ho idea, has been elevated to the heights of the rival New Establishment. With her two gorgeous infant sons, Maines is among the latest celebs to be featured in the Gap Red 'You can Change the World' campaign. The ads appear in glossy magazines from People to Vanity Fair, arbiter of the New Establishment, which would have been unthinkable back when the Dixie Chicks were good ole girls pandering to the Country and Western mainstream. Then, of course, she made her famous remark from a London stage as Dubya mustered his tanks on the Iraqi borders:
