Anti-Obama speech haunts Clinton

Hillary Clinton's bitter battle with Barack Obama for the US Democrat presidential nomination has come back to haunt the party, as many Democrats feared it might. A new campaign ad made for the internet by Republican nominee John McCain's team shows a series of Democrats praising McCain. It concludes with part of a bruising anti-Obama speech that Hillary delivered during one of her primaries.

In the clip, Clinton says: "I know Senator McCain has a lifetime of experience that he will bring to the White House and Senator Obama has a speech that he gave in 2002."

The ad was released on the internet just one day before Clinton is due to begin her biggest campaign push for Obama. The former First Lady has been struggling to win over her own loyal supporters to support Obama.
