Earthquake strikes off California

A earthquake registering 6.2 on the Richter Scale struck off California’s northern coast this morning according to the US Geological Survey.

The tremor struck just before 6am local time 133 miles west of the town of Eureka. Police in the area said they had no reports of any damage or injuries after an earthquake was recorded off the coast.

No tsunami is expected from the undersea quake said the USGS and the West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center.
