Insurer hints at Rock court action

Legal & General has indicated it may take the Government to court over the nationalisation of Northern Rock if shareholders are not adequately compensated. As the Rock's largest institutional investor, with 4.8 per cent of shares, the insurer demanded that the Government give shareholders details about the arbitration process and how it would determine the price investors will receive.
