Army faces inquiry over Iraqi death
The British Army is to face a full public inquiry over the 2003 torture and subsequent death of an Iraqi hotel receptionist in its custody, Defence Secretary Des Browne has confirmed. Baha Musa suffered 93 injuries at the hands of British soldiers in Basra after the 26-year-old was subjected to 36 hours of beatings and abusive treatment, including being 'double-hooded' with hessian sacks. The inquiry will be conducted by a High Court judge.
