Junta seals off delta from outside world
Burma's military junta have expelled foreign aid workers from the Irrawaddy delta and sealed off the cyclone-stricken region from international rescue efforts with a cordon of checkpoints. The move came amid reports that almost 130,000 people may have died in Cyclone Nargis while a further 2.5m are thought to have been affected by the cyclone. Meanwhile a second cyclone looks set to threaten the Burmese coast.
