Angelina Jolie attacked for not supporting Barack Obama

If you're a Hollywood actor and you don't endorse Barack Obama you’d better watch out for the American comedienne Roseanne Barr. She has launched a stream of invective against Angelina Jolie (pictured with her partner Brad Pitt) for not pledging her support to the Democratic nominee.

Jolie recently said - rather pompously - that she was waiting to see the commitments Obama intends making "on issues like international justice, refugees and how to address the needs of children in crisis around the world". But this cut no ice with Barr. "Aren’t you supposed to be somewhat enlightened, or do you not know that the African daughter you hold in every picture [a reference to two of Jolie’s three adopted children] had parents who suffered and died because of the Republican Party’s worldwide economic assault on Africa over the last few decades since Reagan?

"Angelina Jolie and her vacuous hubby Brad Pitt make about $40m a year in violent psychopathic movies and give away three [million] of it to starving children trying to look as if they give a crap about humanity as they spit out more dunces that will consume more than their fair share and wreck the earth even more." Jolie’s actor father Jon Voight, an avowed Republican, is also put through the shredder. "Jon Voight is a frightened little girl in a pink ballet tutu, who acts like Obama just wandered in from the rain forest with a bone through his nose and a Communist pamphlet in his loincloth."
