Lindsay Lohan and Sam Ronson go public at New York Fashion Week
London-born designer Charlotte Ronson made her New York Fashion Week show on Saturday a truly family affair. Her brother Mark Ronson, music producer du jour, provided the music, younger sister Annabelle was among the models on the catwalk, and their mother Ann Dexter-Jones was in the front row. But it was sister Samantha Ronson who stole the limelight, turning up with her "gal pal", actress Lindsay Lohan (pictured with Ronson). Their appearance together was thought to be an avowal of their relationship, which previously they had played down.
Elsewhere it seemed the fashionistas had been overtaken by American election fever, although few of them were championing Sarah Palin, the Republicans' self-styled "pitbull in lipstick". The entrance to the Fashion Week tents in Bryant Park, midtown Manhattan, have been decorated with large campaign-like badges that read: "Declare your Style", "Fashion = Change", "Vote Fashion", "Super Model Delegate", and "Accessorise for Democracy". Designer Liz McClean went one further by sending her final model down the catwalk wearing a Barack Obama campaign badge.
