In brief: Sven’s £350k hotel bill

Former England manager Sven Goran Eriksson ran up a bill of £350,000 while living in a hotel during his 10 months managing Manchester City, before he was sacked this week and immediately appointed coach for the Mexican national side... Tatum O'Neal, who was arrested buying crack cocaine in New York at the weekend, has blamed her relapse - she has battled with drug addiction for many years - on the death of her Scottish terrier, Lena. She says: "There's no excuse for what I did, but that seemed to set me off. It was too horrible for words."...Prue Leith, the restaurateur and cookery school owner, could face prosecution from the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds after revealing that she makes omelettes from the eggs of Canada geese, a practice that is illegal and carries heavy fines....Brigitte Bardot has been fined €15,000 after being convicted of provoking discrimination and racial hatred after writing that Muslims were destroying France... Germaine Greer has signed up to front a new television campaign promoting National Savings, the investment backed by the Treasury... Wayne Rooney has been forced to pay David Moyes, his former manager at Everton, "substantial" libel damages; in his autobiography, My Story So Far, Rooney wrongly accused Moyes of leaking stories about him to newspapers, including that he had slept with a prostitute called the "auld slapper"… Sienna Miller has split up with her long-term boyfriend, Welsh actor Rhys Ifans...
