In brief: Miller to play Maid Marian

Sienna Miller is to play Maid Marian in a remake of the Robin Hood story by Gladiator director Ridley Scott. Miller, pictured (left) in Edinburgh with co-star Keira Knightley for Wednesday's premiere of the Dylan Thomas biopic The Edge of Love, will play opposite Russell Crowe as the Sheriff of Nottingham. Scott has a revisionist take on the myth: the Sheriff will be the hero and Robin the villain... Kelvin MacKenzie, who said he was "90 per cent certain" to stand against David Davis in next month's by-election, now says he will not run because he has no financial backing from Rupert Murdoch.
