In brief: Miller to play Maid Marian

Sienna Miller is to play Maid Marian in a remake of the Robin Hood story by Gladiator director Ridley Scott. Miller, pictured (left) in Edinburgh with co-star Keira Knightley for Wednesday's premiere of the Dylan Thomas biopic The Edge of Love, will play opposite Russell Crowe as the Sheriff of Nottingham. "The clincher for me was the money," he said... Actress Uma Thurman is to star with Jonathan Pryce in My Zinc Bed, a play written for BBC2 by David Hare; it is one of two plays commissioned by the BBC in partnership with HBO, the other is an adaptation of Caryl Churchill's A Number, starring Tom Wilkinson and Rhys Ifans as father and son... Images of the Queen taken by celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz during a controversial photoshoot are to go on show at the National Portrait Gallery in October; a clip of the Queen supposedly walking out of the shoot cost BBC1 controller Peter Fincham his job after it was used for a press launch… French football coach Raymond Domenech has responded to calls from fans for his resignation after proposing to his girlfriend Estelle Denis live on TV only minutes after France were knocked out of the Euro 2008. He said: "Everything was so sad, I thought life had some beautiful moments and you should tell people you love them"…
