In brief: Charles rents out holiday home

The Prince of Wales is offering his new holiday home, an 18th-century stone coach house located in Myddfai, near Llandovery, West Wales, to paying guests. Local estate agents predict it could earn more than £500 a week… Billie Piper, the Doctor Who actress, claims, somewhat improbably, that her role as high-class prostitute in ITV's The Secret Diary of a Call Girl has ruined her chances of a serious Hollywood career. The series, based on the blogs of London call-girl Belle du Jour, has attracted reasonable viewing figures in America, but Piper believes a scene in which she appears topless may have been unwise. She says: "Someone said the other day, rather viciously, 'What A-list stars get their tits out? And I started thinking, 'Oh my God, what have I done? I've ruined my future career'." …on the matter of ruined careers, Piper is an amateur compared with Boy George, the 1980s pop singer. He has been refused a visa by the US immigration authorities, a move that has thrown his solo summer tour of the country in doubt. The reason is said to be related the singer's arrest last year after a 28-year-old male escort from Norway accused him of imprisoning him and chaining him to a wall… Heather Mills, the former wife of Sir Paul McCartney, has been lined up to take part in the US celebrity version of The Apprentice. The programme, in which Donald Trump takes on the role played by Sir Alan Sugar in the British version, will be the start of her much vaunted attempt to rehabilitate herself after her messy divorce with the former Beatle…
