Bale was provoked by jibe about wife

More details are emerging about Christian Bale’s alleged assault on his mother and sister, said to have taken place inside his suite at the Dorchester Hotel on Sunday evening. The Daily Mail quotes a source close to the actor, who had been in London to attend the premiere of the new Batman film The Dark Knight (he plays the Caped Crusader), as saying that the argument arose after his mother was rude about her son's wife, Sandra ‘Sibi’ Blazic (pictured with Bale).

"Christian's attitude is that this was his mother’s fault because she became very provocative in an argument they were having," the Mail's source said. "Christian was stressed, but he didn’t lay a finger on anyone. Instead, he flew off the handle and cussed his mother. He just got very loud because his mother was saying some very outrageous things about him, and his wife." Meanwhile, Bale is expected to continue his promotional tour with The Dark Knight, next stop Barcelona.
