Duke’s company won’t go gay

The Duke’s property company, Grosvenor Estates, had been planning to market some of its more "groovy" apartments in its portfolio towards the gay community, designing interiors that might appeal and placing advertisements in gay magazines.

Jones Lang LaSalle, Grosvenor’s advisors on the flats, were said to be dead keen, but according to the Estates Gazette, the scheme was scotched by senior management. Says one agent: "Apparently they said it didn’t quite fit with their image." So that was that.
