Sadie Frost’s fashion company goes bust owing millions
Another nail has been banged into the coffin of the Primrose Hill Set, the band of North London groovers led by the supermodel Kate Moss. The clothing company of one if its key players, Sadie Frost, has gone bust, owing millions of pounds.
Frost, 43, a sometime actress (she was the girl in Brit pop band Pulp’s video for Common People), is best known as the ex-wife of actor Jude Law. She set up the FrostFrench fashion line in 1999 with designer Jemima French (pictured above left, with Sadie centre) in 1999. If success could be judged by press coverage, the business would be thriving. Sadly, publicity did not turn into sales - one creditor alone is owed £3.3m.
Last year’s accounts showed the company, whose underwear range is stocked in Debenhams, made a £774,533 loss following several years of poor trading. A new firm, FrostFrench London Retail, has taken over the management of the brand in a rescue deal, which will keep its Islington store open despite the closure of its King's Road boutique. The FrostFrench trading website has also been temporarily suspended. (Continued below)

Despite the debts, Sadie and her partner will work for the new management. Says a spokesman for the firm: "Frost and French... relish the opportunity to be fully hands-on again."
