In Town Last Night: GQ Men of the Year awards

It was a night for the boys for once at the GQ Men of the Year Awards 2008, held last night at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Hosted by Lily Allen and Sir Elton John, the ceremony was bursting with feted attendees. Dishing out gongs were A-list actress Thandie Newton and rock legend Dave Grohl, while music producer Mark Ronson (pictured left, with current squeeze Daisy Lowe) took home the 'maverick award', and the Mighty Boosh boys were named comedians of the year. Meanwhile London mayor Boris Johnson was named politician of the year.
