In brief: Hathaway’s ex goes down

The ex-boyfriend of Anne Hathaway (pictured), Raffaello Follieri, has pleaded guilty to multiple charges relating to a scam in which he allegedly posed as a Vatican official and cheated wealthy investors. The actress terminated her relationship with Follieri, 30, shortly before his arrest in June and there have rumours that she co-operated with the FBI ............ Robbers appear to have used Guy Ritchie's 40th birthday party, held at the Punch Bowl, the Mayfair pub he owns, as a decoy to pull of a £2m heist of computer equipment from the British Telecom exchange next door ............. Italian actress Sabina Guzzanti faces a five-year jail sentence after joking that the Pope Benedict should "go to Hell and be pursued by two big, gay and very active devils". The prosecution is being made under an article of the Italian penal code that protects the Pope from vilification ............. A new book about John Lennon puts forward the idea that he wanted to instigate a sexual flirtation with fellow band member Paul McCartney. In John Lennon: The Life, author Philip Norman claims that when Lennon made the suggestion to Paul, reasoning that "bohemians should try everything", he was turned down…………… Noel Gallagher has spoken about being assaulted during an Oasis concert in Toronto last weekend: "Someone who can only be described as a Canadian was able to get on stage, somehow evade our crack security team - Trotters Independent Security Services – and assault my midriff" …………… Rap star Kanye West has been arrested on suspicion of vandalism after a £6,000 camera was smashed in a scuffle with photographers at Los Angeles International Airport……………
