OJ Simpson has a bad day in court
Things are not looking good for OJ Simpson (pictured), the former American football star who was controversially cleared of murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman 13 years ago. The one-time sporting hero is currently standing trial on charges of robbery and kidnapping in Las Vegas, for which he could face life imprisonment. And in court on Monday he was done no favours by the evidence of one of his former pals and co-defendents, Charles Ehrlich, who testified that Simpson was aware that guns were used in the incident, something which OJ has strongly denied.
The testimony is some of the most damning yet against Simpson, who maintains he was merely recovering personal items relating to his football career when he and his friends went to see two sports memorabilia merchants at the Palace Station Hotel in Las Vegas last September. OJ claims the memorabilia had been stolen from him years earlier, that he had the right to get them back and that no guns were used.
But Ehlrich told the court that during the incident one of Simpson's cohorts pulled out a gun and another carried a weapon in his jacket. He said he heard Simpson say, "Put the guns away", a clear contradiction of OJ's testimony. (Continued below)

Ehlrich, 54, said that after leaving the Palace Station Hotel the men drove back to the Palms Hotel, where Simpson was staying. He said: "After entering his room, he [Simpson] said, 'I f****d up. I'm going to need a bail bondsman'."
Ehlrich told the court that when he tried to ask Simpson about the guns, he said, "There were no guns".
"I said, 'What are you talking about'," Ehlrich said. "He sat down and started mumbling to himself: 'Why did I tell those guys to come along'."
"Did you continue to tell him there were guns," prosecutor David Roger asked.
"Yes," Mr Ehlrich replied. "He was in denial."
The trial continues.
