Gucci’s Frida Giannini uses bondage to make a splash in Milan
Gucci's designer, Frida Giannini (pictured with outgoing Gucci CEO Mark Lee), unveiled a sizzling collection in Milan last night, with touches of bondage, micro-minis and triple-ankle-strap heels. Giannini herself took her bow after the show wearing black bondage-style trousers and declared her collections were inspired by her rock'n'roll lifestyle.
Meanwhile 72-year-old Roberto Cavalli unveiled his look for spring 2009. He said the collection of white chiffon dresses - demure with long sleeves and high necks yet see-through - was partly inspired by Brigitte Bardot's 1965 film Viva Maria!.
Last night the fashion faithful flocked to see Gwyneth Paltrow's video clip, directed by Dennis Hopper, to promote the latest Tod's bag.
